JAMMU, Aug 15: On the occasion of Independence Day, the Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu, organised a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
The National Flag was unfurled with full honour in the presence of members of the Welfare Society and local residents, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Sweets were also distributed among the members and the public to mark the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Balwinder Singh Rinku, President of the Welfare Society, conveyed a strong message of equality, unity and brotherhood. He emphasised the importance of maintaining communal harmony and collective responsibility for the development and welfare of the locality.
Members of the Welfare Society reaffirmed their commitment to working sincerely for the betterment of Guru Nanak Nagar and addressing issues faced by residents. They stressed the need for continued cooperation between residents and the society to resolve local concerns and improve civic amenities.

The programme concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold the spirit of patriotism, communal harmony, brotherhood and dedicated service to society. The gathering reaffirmed that the true spirit of Independence lies in working collectively for a peaceful, inclusive and progressive community.
