JAMMU, Aug 10: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) inaugurated its new headquarters on the Bypass Road in the Sainik Colony area of Jammu on Monday, with party leaders asserting that issues concerning the public would be raised strongly from the new office.
The headquarters was inaugurated under the directives of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and party J&K president and Doda MLA Mehraj Malik. Senior party leaders, including Amit Kapoor, Yasir Mattoo, Gurmeet Singh, Sandeep Sharma, Amrik Singh, Dikshit Gupta, Sujan Singh, Rajesh Bali, Arvind Bandral, Hira Lal Abrol, Kachru Ji, Kesar, Raj Mohammad Salaria, Agya Kaur, Bharti Devi, Amit Dogra and Rohit Sharma, among others, were present on the occasion.
Speaking to reporters, Amit Kapoor and other party leaders described the opening as a significant occasion for the people of Jammu and AAP workers. They alleged that the National Conference and BJP had entered into a “secret pact” and claimed that people were now aware of what they described as an understanding between the two parties.
The AAP leaders said the party would adopt an aggressive approach on issues affecting the common people. They warned that AAP workers would raise public concerns at every appropriate forum and organise peaceful agitations whenever required.
Questioning the J&K Government over the issue of electricity, the leaders asked why free electricity could not be provided to people in Jammu and Kashmir, citing the policies implemented by the AAP government under Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi.
They asserted that the newly opened headquarters would serve as an important platform for connecting with the public, highlighting their grievances and strengthening the party’s organisational activities across Jammu.
