SAMBA, Aug 9: The NCC and NSS Units of SPPND Government Degree College Samba organised a series of activities under the 100 Weeks Programme on “NashaMuktYuva for Viksit Bharat”, with the objective of promoting patriotism, social responsibility, cleanliness and positive engagement among youth.
As part of the programme, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers presented a soulful rendition of the National Song, “VandeMataram.”
The patriotic rendition reflected the spirit of national pride and unity and reinforced the message of responsible and committed youth participation in nation-building.
The programme also featured the screening of a documentary on the untold story of the Partition of India to observe Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.
The documentary highlighted the immense suffering, displacement and loss endured by the victims of Partition and sensitised the students to the tragic human consequences of the event.
The screening served as a reminder of the importance of remembering history and upholding the values of peace, unity and communal harmony.
In another significant activity, NSS volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive in and around the college campus, spreading the message of cleanliness and civic responsibility and encouraging students to contribute towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Around 80 NCC cadets and NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically in the activities. The entire programme was organised and coordinated by the NSS Programme Officer and Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) of the Army and Naval Wings.
The programme was organised under the guidance of the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) NirlapeKour, who appreciated the active participation of the cadets and volunteers and lauded their efforts towards promoting patriotism, social responsibility and the vision of a drug-free and developed India.
