JAMMU, Aug 9: In a significant show of public appreciation, the residents of Asarabad, Ward No. 71, Sidhra, today expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Abhay Bakaya, District President Jammu of the Apni Party, for honouring his commitment to get the long-pending crate work, puli, and protection walls executed in the area.
A public meeting was organised by the Booth Incharge Kamlesh Devi, where a large number of residents gathered to thank Bakaya for relentlessly pursuing the issue with the concerned authorities.
The locals said that the protection works had been their long-pending demand, particularly after last year’s devastating floods caused extensive damage to residential properties and threatened the safety of the area. They added that the commencement of these works has brought immense relief and renewed confidence among the people.
Addressing the gathering, Abhay Bakaya said that the Apni Party has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and has consistently raised public issues without indulging in hollow politics.
“The Apni Party is not a party of slogans but a party of action. We believe that politics is about solving people’s problems and not exploiting their emotions. Our commitment is to serve the people throughout the year, not just during elections,” Bakaya said.
He asserted that the Apni Party will continue to fight for the genuine concerns of the people, including better roads, uninterrupted drinking water supply, flood protection measures, improved drainage, electricity, healthcare, education, and other essential civic amenities.
Criticising the functioning of successive governments, Bakaya said that people have repeatedly been misled by emotional slogans and grand promises during elections, while their genuine developmental needs remain neglected.
“Political parties come before the people only at election time and make promises that are conveniently forgotten once votes are secured. The present government has failed to address several genuine issues affecting the common people and has not fulfilled many of the commitments made during the elections. The people deserve accountability, not excuses,” he remarked.
Bakaya reiterated that the Apni Party believes in truthful and responsible politics. “We make only those promises that can be fulfilled. Our priority is to resolve the day-to-day problems of the people and ensure balanced development across Jammu and Kashmir. We are committed to building an environment of peace, progress, transparency, and inclusive development where every citizen benefits from good governance.”
The residents lauded Bakaya for his accessibility, regular interaction with the public, and persistent follow-up with the administration, stating that his efforts have translated into visible development on the ground. They expressed hope that the remaining developmental works in the area would also be completed at the earliest and assured him of their continued support for initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in Ward No. 71, Sidhra.
