JAMMU, Aug 9: Sanjay Dhar, Political Leader and Parliamentary contested candidate from Anantnag, has expressed serious concern over a threatening communication dated August 7, 2026, allegedly issued in the name of “United Liberation Council (ULC)”, reportedly targeting police personnel, government employees, Kashmiri Pandit employees and their families.
According to the contents of the communication, threats of retaliation have reportedly been issued, including claims that information regarding the families and locations of certain individuals is available. Such threats are extremely serious and cannot be dismissed or allowed to become a means of intimidation.
Sanjay Dhar strongly urged the Government of India and the J&K Administration to immediately verify the authenticity of the communication, identify its source, conduct a thorough investigation and take strict legal action against those responsible if the allegations are found to be genuine.
He further demanded that adequate security and protection be provided to all individuals specifically threatened, particularly Kashmiri Pandit employees and their families, wherever necessary.
“Threats cannot be allowed to become a language of governance or resistance. We will not normalize intimidation, nor will we remain silent. Every credible threat must be taken seriously, investigated promptly and dealt with strictly according to law,” Sanjay Dhar said.
He emphasized that the safety and dignity of citizens and government employees must remain paramount and that no individual or organization should be permitted to threaten innocent people or their families.
For privacy and security reasons, names, phone numbers and other identifying information contained in the original document have been deliberately blurred. The purpose of bringing the matter into the public domain is to document and condemn the reported threats, not to expose or endanger private individuals.
