Sadguru Madhuparamhans Ji explains illusion, karma and liberation at Ranjri

JAMMU, Aug 9: Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj of Sahib Bandgi, while addressing a congregation at Ranjri, Jammu, delivered a spiritual discourse on the nature of the human body, illusion, Karma and the path to liberation. He explained that the human body is like a cage in which the soul remains bound. The body, he said, is composed of the five elements and 25 prakritis (attributes of nature), while the soul is held captive by the mind and Maya.

Sahib Ji explained that the physical body itself is part of illusion and that even the experience of Anhad Dhun, or unstruck celestial sounds, belongs to the realm of illusion. He stated that Jaap (repetition of a mantra), Ajapa (automatic inner repetition) and even celestial sounds ultimately cease. According to him, the soul continues to seek liberation while remaining trapped within this illusion.

Drawing an analogy, he said that a mouse trapped inside a cage may repeatedly jump in different directions in an attempt to escape, but without knowing the right way, it remains imprisoned. Similarly, human beings search for the Supreme Soul through various means but often fail to discover the correct path. He further stated that concepts of sin and virtue are also part of the realm of illusion.

During the discourse, Sahib Ji narrated an episode from the Ramayana concerning Lord Rama and Vali. He explained that Vali possessed a boon through which anyone confronting him would lose half of their strength, making him extremely difficult to defeat. When Rama killed Vali while remaining concealed behind a tree, Vali questioned the act. Rama explained that Vali had committed a serious moral transgression by casting a lustful gaze upon women regarded as daughters, daughters-in-law or younger sisters.

Sahib Ji further referred to Rama’s assurance that Vali would receive an opportunity for revenge in the Dvapara Yuga, when Rama would incarnate as Krishna. He used the episode to underline the profound consequences of Karma, stressing that every action produces results, often manifold, just as a single seed can produce a much larger harvest.

He concluded that liberation from the cycle of Karma is possible only through the guidance of a true Sadguru and the power of Naam.
