Kesri condemns remarks against Sanatan Dharma, urges students to keep protests peaceful

JAMMU, Aug 8: Shiv Sena Hindustan Jammu & Kashmir President Pandit Rajesh Kesri strongly condemned the recent remarks and actions by political leaders, including those allegedly associated with Pappu Yadav and the Congress, which he claimed mocked Hindu saints and hurt the sentiments of followers of Sanatan Dharma.

Addressing the media, Pandit Rajesh Kesri described such comments as highly objectionable and said Shiv Sena Hindustan strongly opposes any attempt to ridicule or disrespect Sanatan Dharma and its spiritual leaders. He asserted that targeting the beliefs of one particular community for political gains is unacceptable and urged political leaders to act responsibly while making public statements.

Kesri also raised concerns over the alleged encroachment of religious properties belonging to various faiths. He questioned whether those speaking about temple lands would also raise their voices regarding alleged encroachments on Waqf and church properties. He said the issue of illegal occupation of religious land should be addressed impartially, irrespective of the religion to which it belongs.

Referring to the ongoing student protests, Kesri said that every citizen, including students, has the democratic right to raise legitimate issues and seek justice through peaceful means. He appreciated the youth for standing up for their rights but cautioned them against allowing anti-social elements or politically motivated groups to exploit their movements.

He urged students to ensure that their protests remain peaceful, democratic and focused on their genuine demands, without becoming a platform for political agendas. He also appealed to young people not to be influenced by political parties or misleading elements seeking to divert the purpose of their protests.

Expressing concern over national security, Kesri said reports in recent years have highlighted attempts by anti-national and narcotics-linked elements to infiltrate youth movements in certain regions. He stressed the need for constant vigilance to ensure that peaceful demonstrations are not misused to create unrest or damage public property.

Calling upon the younger generation to place the nation above all else, Kesri said every effort should be made to protect the country’s unity, security and public assets while exercising democratic rights.

Among those present on the occasion were Balwant Fauji, Sanjeev Sharma, Saurav, Pandit Rajeshwar Singh.
