R S PURA, Aug 2: Government Degree College (GDC) R. S. Pura enthusiastically participated in the live telecast of the address by the Prime Minister of India under the nationwide campaign “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.”
The programme was organized to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to inspire them to become responsible citizens committed to building a developed India.
The event was held under the guidance of the Prof.(Dr.) Preetpal Kour, Principal of the College, who encouraged students and faculty members to actively engage with the Prime Minister’s message emphasizing the importance of a drug-free society.
Near about 80 number of students, faculty members, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets and non-teaching staff attended the programme with great enthusiasm.
During his address, the Prime Minister Narendera Modi stressed that the youth are the greatest strength of the nation and called upon them to stay away from drugs, adopt healthy lifestyles and contribute positively to the vision of Viksit Bharat. He highlighted the collective responsibility of educational institutions, families and society in preventing substance abuse and promoting awareness among young people.
The participants attentively listened to the address and reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of the NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The programme served as a motivating platform to sensitize students about the social, physical and psychological consequences of drug addiction while encouraging them to act as ambassadors of awareness within their communities.
The event concluded with a pledge by the participants to remain drug-free and to actively support the national mission of creating a healthy, empowered and developed India. GDC R. S. Pura reiterated its commitment to organizing awareness programmes and youth-centric initiatives aimed at promoting a drug-free society and realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
