Virender Gupta urges introduction of Smart City E-Bus Service Between Mata Bawe Wali and Tirupati Balaji Temples

JAMMU, Jul 27: Social activist and President of Rudraksh Sewa Sangathan, Virender Gupta, on Monday submitted a memorandum to Shri Kulbhushan Khajuria, Joint Director, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), seeking the introduction of a Smart City E-Bus service between Mata Bawe Wali Temple and Tirupati Balaji Temple to enhance public transportation and promote religious tourism.

In the memorandum, Gupta highlighted that Mata Bawe Wali Temple is one of Jammu’s most revered religious destinations and a major attraction for tourists and pilgrims.

The surrounding area also houses several prominent tourist landmarks, including Bahu Fort, Bagh-e-Bahu Garden, the Aquarium, the Ropeway (Cable Car), and other important sites, which collectively receive a large number of visitors throughout the year.

Despite its religious and tourism significance, the area has not yet been covered under the Smart City E-Bus network, whereas similar services are already operational in several other parts of Jammu.

Gupta emphasized that the introduction of an E-Bus service on this route would provide a safe, economical, and environmentally sustainable mode of transportation for devotees, local residents, senior citizens, students, and tourists.

He further stated that improved connectivity between these important religious destinations would not only enhance public convenience but also contribute significantly to the promotion of tourism and the overall development of the Bahu Fort area.

After receiving the memorandum, Kulbhushan Khajuria assured Gupta that the Jammu Municipal Corporation and the concerned authorities would make sincere efforts to commence the Smart City E-Bus service from August 1.

He informed that the necessary formalities are currently being completed and expressed confidence that the service would soon become operational, providing improved transport facilities and strengthening the tourism infrastructure of the region.
