JAMMU, May 17: Reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the rights and welfare of displaced families, the J&K National Panthers Party (Bhim) has officially constituted the Migrants Action Committee, Talwara, located in District Reasi. This newly formed committee has been established specifically to look after and address the pressing issues concerning the migrants from Jammu Province.
The struggle for the fundamental rights and dignity of Jammu migrants has long been the cornerstone of the party’s mission, a legacy pioneered by the late Prof. Bhim Singh. Prof. Singh dedicated a significant portion of his life to this cause, fighting relentlessly for the displaced communities by filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court of India. Through his legal and political advocacy, he successfully secured a historic judgment that granted relief to Jammu migrants equal to the relief provided to Kashmiri migrants, ensuring parity and justice for the displaced families of the Jammu region.
Announcing the newly formed committee, Vilakshan Singh, President of JKNPP (Bhim), issued a strong reassurance to the displaced communities. He assured the Jammu migrants that even after the sad demise of Prof. Bhim Singh, the party’s resolve remains unshaken. Vilakshan Singh emphasized that the Panthers Party Bhim will not abandon the cause and will continue to fight fiercely for their rights, welfare, and equitable treatment without compromise.
The Migrants Action Committee comprises a dedicated leadership team ready to take this crucial mission forward. The main position holders appointed to lead the committee include Balwan Singh (State General Secy. JKNPP Bhim), who will serve as Chairman, alongside another Balwan Singh (District President Reasi) shall be Vice Chairman of the Committee. Ravinder Singh has been appointed as the President of the Committee, with Baldev Singh taking up the responsibility of Vice President. Additionally, Kartar Singh assumes the role of Secretary, and Samitra Devi has been named President of the Women Cell.
