JAMMU, Jul 17: Thousands of devotees gathered near Government Degree College, Nagrota, on Friday to attend a spiritual satsang addressed by Sadguru Shri Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj of Sahib Bandgi. The event witnessed an atmosphere of devotion and spiritual reflection as devotees listened to Maharaj’s discourse on self-realisation, meditation and righteous living.
Nagrota MLA Devyani Rana attended the programme and sought the blessings of Sadguru Madhuparamhans Ji Maharaj. During the interaction, Maharaj advised her to remain dedicated to the path of public service with humility and sincerity. He observed that regardless of the position one holds in society, true greatness lies in serving people with honesty, compassion and righteousness, adding that service to humanity is the highest form of service to God.
Addressing the congregation, Maharaj emphasised the importance of meditation, saying that it is the essence of the soul and the key to inner peace. He urged devotees to practice meditation regularly, lead a positive lifestyle and follow the path of spiritual upliftment.
Explaining the fundamentals of spirituality, Maharaj said that merely chanting the Divine Name is not enough unless it is accompanied by righteous conduct and adherence to the Guru’s teachings. He explained that the human body houses the Jiva (individual soul), Brahma and Maya, and stressed the need to understand their true nature to attain self-realisation.
Using simple examples, Maharaj said that just as ghee is extracted from milk, spiritual wisdom emerges through inner understanding and disciplined practice. He reminded devotees that true bliss does not exist in worldly pleasures but resides within the soul itself, urging them to free themselves from the bondage of the mind and illusion through devotion, meditation and self-awareness.
The satsang concluded with prayers for universal peace, harmony and the spiritual well-being of humanity.
