KISHTWAR, Jul 12: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) senior leader and Chenab Valley spokesperson Ajeet Bhagat on Sunday alleged that despite official claims of successful implementation of the Har Ghar Jal scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission, many residents of Kishtwar continue to face an acute shortage of drinking water.
Bhagat claimed that while the scheme has been shown as completed on paper, water is still not reaching household taps. He urged the district administration to wake up to the ground reality and take immediate steps to address the crisis.
Appealing to senior officials, the NC leader said public welfare schemes should benefit people in practice rather than remain confined to official records, and called for prompt intervention to ensure regular drinking water supply in Kishtwar.
