KISHTWAR, Jul 8: Senior National Conference leader and Chenab Valley Zone spokesperson Ajeet Bhagat on Wednesday appealed to Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Sakina Itoo to organise a mega teachers’ recruitment drive across the Union Territory to address the shortage of teaching staff in government schools.
In a statement, Bhagat said that educated unemployed youth have been waiting for large-scale recruitment in the School Education Department for several years. He expressed concern that thousands of teaching posts remain vacant in different districts, adversely affecting the quality of education and the academic future of students.
Appealing to the Education Minister, Bhagat urged her to initiate a comprehensive, transparent and merit-based recruitment process at the earliest. He said such a drive would not only generate employment opportunities for deserving candidates but also strengthen the education system by ensuring adequate teaching staff in schools across Jammu and Kashmir.
