Viksit Bharat Mission empowering Rural India through employment, livelihoods: Adv Devraj

JAMMU, Jul 3: Senior BJP leader and former Sarpanch Adv. Devraj Sharma on Friday hailed the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin 2025 as a transformative initiative aimed at creating sustainable employment opportunities and strengthening rural livelihoods across the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement, Sharma said the mission reflects the Union Government’s commitment to building a self-reliant and prosperous rural economy by promoting skill development, self-employment, entrepreneurship and income-generating activities. He said the initiative would significantly benefit rural youth, women, farmers and members of Self-Help Groups by providing them with better livelihood opportunities and financial empowerment.

He observed that Jammu and Kashmir possesses immense potential in agriculture, horticulture, dairy farming, handicrafts, tourism and allied sectors, and the mission would help unlock these opportunities by improving access to skill training, credit support and market linkages. This, he said, would contribute to reducing unemployment and discouraging migration from rural areas.

Adv. Sharma further said that the vision of Viksit Bharat envisages inclusive growth where every village becomes economically vibrant and self-sufficient. He maintained that focused implementation of livelihood schemes would strengthen grassroots institutions, improve household incomes and enhance the overall quality of life in rural communities.

The BJP leader urged the administration to ensure transparent and effective implementation of the mission across Jammu and Kashmir so that eligible beneficiaries receive timely assistance without bureaucratic hurdles. He expressed confidence that with active public participation and coordinated efforts, the initiative would emerge as a milestone in achieving rural prosperity and inclusive development while contributing to the vision of a developed India by 2047.
