BANI, May 13: Government Degree College Bani organised a signature campaign on drug awareness titled “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life” under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) to spread awareness among students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to encourage a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Neena Gupta, who was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the participants, she highlighted the physical, mental and social consequences of drug addiction and stressed the importance of adopting healthy habits through sports and physical activities.
She encouraged students to remain focused on their goals and stay away from substance abuse. The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, where students actively raised questions and shared their views regarding drug awareness and prevention.
More than 100 students participated in the awareness programme and took part in the signature campaign, pledging to spread the message against drug abuse in society.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. J S Soodan.
Among the faculty members present on the occasion were Prof. Naseeb Bhagat, Dr. Resham Singh, Prof. Akash Zutshi, Dr. Narinder Kumar, Dr. Nisha Devi, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Reeha Sharma, Dr. Sayeed Ahmed, Prof. Firdos Bhat, Dr. Farooq Ahmed Dar, Dr. Mulkh Raj and Prof. Rajneesh Kumar besides staff members Racchpal Sharma and Himanshu Sharma.
The faculty members appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to actively participate in awareness programmes aimed at building a healthy and responsible society.
