SHOPIAN, Feb 18 (Agencies): Security forces on Tuesday recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in Kashwa Chitragam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said.
A police official stated that a bomb disposal squad (BDS) was immediately rushed to the spot to neutralize the explosive.
“The IED, weighing approximately 6 to 7 kg, was placed inside a pressure cooker and was successfully defused by the bomb disposal squad,” the official said.
Meanwhile, security forces have recovered another suspicious object, believed to be an IED, in Pinglish area of Tral. “A bomb disposal squad has reached the spot to defuse the suspected IED”, said an official.
